I’m just interested in gaining some insight into what Copper considers the difference to be between Record Types and Contact Types. The documentation is somewhat confusing in that it refers to either or both somewhat interchangeably without explaining the distinctions. For instance, on this page (here) it refers to “Contact Management” but doesn’t distinguish between contacts and records. My assumption is that Contact Type is a sub-set of Record Type that only applies to Person and Company records, and not the other record types correct? It might be helpful to note that boldly somewhere otherwise it can seem like the two names are being used interchangeably.
Hi -- is there a limit to the number of connections a person can have? Here is my intended use: I work in real estate and want to track how many deals we do with a given escrow officer. We may work one deal with an escrow officer, and 30 with another escrow officer in one year. Is there a limit to the number of connections that a person record can have with an opportunity record? For future use, are connect field counts captured in reporting tools? Thanks!Christina
Hi, I wrote an email in Copper to a lead and pushed send. Then I had to log in to Gmail, because I was automatically logged out (Gmail do that some times). Now the email has dissapeared from Copper, is not on the list of synced emails, and is not in sent emails from Gmail. Where can I find the email I wrote?
I have tried multiple times to upload contacts into Copper so that the email address I have on file is set as their work email. I have tried this as a CSV/Excel/Google Sheet and I am unable to get the default to be work email. Meaning that I need to go into each individual and copy and paste their email address to work email...there has to be a more efficient way to do this for 5K+ contacts?
Email & calendar syncing: we've noticed that emails/calendar events seem to be inconsistently syncing to Copper. Some show up in Copper that we did not intend to sync. Want to get really clear on the sycning settings so that we can be precise in controlling for what should and should not show up in the database.Any suggestions?
Sending bulk emails using templates is a piece of cake. But sending an email to a large number of people who don't know each other they don't want their emails given out and it needs to be sent out by BCC (blind carbon copy that's such a funny name for today blind carbon copy)Does anyone know how to bulk bcc email templates?
I am having an issue where some users are altering fields after a deal is won and completed. An example is updating the Close Date or Opportunity Owner. Ideally I do not want anyone allowed to alter some of these specific field, post sale. What can be done to avoid this from happening? Also, how can I track when and who makes these changes to the close date?Thank you!
I am new to Copper and am still in the process of setting things up for our team. One thing I need help is regarding Projects and tasks. What have you found is the best way to use these features for internal tasks related to business ops, marketing, sales, technology? Meaning, they are not necessarily attached to a customer. I can’t decide if it would be best to create a project for each category and put tasks within those or to just create tasks, not attaching them to a person. The main thing we want to be able to do is generate a report of tasks by responsible person and due date.
I would like to add mails from people who left already to be added to the copper items that they belong to (but this time visible to everybody that uses copper in our company). Can I upload all the mails for example to allow this ? I currently have 2 users where this is applicable. BR, Mano
Hi there,We used Copper back in the day and have now come back to it. I notice that the “home” tab which used to display a nice and clean snapshot of things like opportunities, tasks due, calendar etc etc has now been removed completely. I am curious as to why this has been done and what has been gained by removing it completely (I get it for detailed reports that it is not a alternative for the detailed reporting tab but for the quick glance of where things are at for your day) and what is planned to replace it, particularly for those “daily” snapshots? Cheers
Hi. New Copper user. Already a big fan. Have Email Tracking enabled for all my outbound communication (as per the guide here) but every time I look at a sent email in Gmail, it records it as a “view” by the participant, resulting in a lot “false positives.”It’s reading the pixel it placed in the outbound email, isn’t it? Any way to minimize that or turn it off? Since gmail threads the conversations, every time I look at an email in the thread, it’s marking it as an external view. Appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.
I have only 5 columns in an Excel file that I am trying to import. Person - Name Person - First name Person - Last Name Person - Job Title Company (note - the companies in my file have a hyperlink to the associated website for this column)I want to import these but when I do by company I run into some sort of issue with needing to set field name but 4 of the above options do not appear. So I then start over and import as Contacts which completes EXCEPT the individual contacts appear as “Individual ____” which means I might as well enter manually at that point. This can’t be so difficult?
