Reduce Number of User
We have migrated to Salesforce and now want to reduce the number of Copper seats to just one. The reason for keeping one seat is to have access to any information that may not have been migrated properly. However, I am unable to find a way to do this within the app, and it has been challenging to locate an official Copper support channel (chat is no longer an option). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
How to add existing records into a new pipeline
I’ve created a new pipeline and I want to add some of our existing contacts (companies) into the pipeline. They are already a contact of ours for other pieces of work and we have this new pipeline to target a new piece of software to them. I can’t work out how to do this.If I am in the pipeline and click on the Add New button, it gives me two options of Add an Opportunity or Import an Opportunity, If I click add an opportunity it brings up a blank worksheet to fill in rather than pulling through existing company details when I start typing the name.Is this possible?
Archive a Contact
I am looking to archive a contact so that she does not receive a bulk email send by accident. I want to leave all of her information intact, but I don’t see how to do that without her being grouped into an email send by accident. For now, I removed her email from the email field and made a note of it in the “create note” field so that I would not lose that information. I don’t want to delete her either, because I would lose all past communications. I just want to archive her so that she does not receive any more communication from us. Any ideas on how to make this happen? Creating a customer filter really doesn’t do the job since everyone has an email, I can’t filter her out and leave her email in place at the same time.
Tasks completing on their own
While on the “Tasks” tab, I drill down into opportunities to complete the task. When I click back on the “Tasks” tab to complete the next task, 3-4 task unrelated to the task I just completed show a checkmark in the “completed” box. I’ve done this 4 or 5 times now with the same consistent result. If I hasn’t returned to the “tasks” tab, I’m afraid these may slip through the cracks. I was able to uncheck them so they are showing undone, but I can’t rely on that being the process.
Trouble with Tasks and Opportunities
So… apparently, every task you set up for a contact automatically shows up in the Related Tasks for every Opportunity associated with that contact…!!! This is nuts. I have used different CRMs and never has this issue. I just installed Copper and found all sorts of Tasks showing up under opportunities that have no relation to that Opportunity, due to this unfortunate design flaw in Copper. Does anyone else experience this issue??? Any workaround? I really want to be able to create Tasks that can be set up as specific to an Opportunity and related to a Contact (without that task then showing up on all the Oppty associated with the contact)!!andI want to be able to create a Task for a Contact and be able to choose which, if any, of the Opportunities related to that contact it shows up under…!!!
Importing data: Skipping Lines??

I’ve been trying to import data for BC Liquor Stores with the columns below and each time I try to import, even if I get all the green checks, the summary has been always skipping all the rows of data, aka then will not import that accounts or companies. I’m not too sure what I’ve done wrong and / or might need to add but I’ve also done it in several different formats being excel, CSV and google sheets. None have worked and NEED HELP!!Name Email Domain City State Country Contact Type Owned By Work Phone BCLS 111 Commercial bcliquorstores.com Vancouver BC Canada Current Customer Anthony Langner 6046609088
Can I change the default Activity Type?
Can I change the default Activity Type? We’re using Copper’s task management system quite a bit — but almost none of our activity involves Phone Calls. Yet, Phone Call is the default Activity Type. There is nothing in settings—that I’ve seen—that let’s me reorder or pick a default. Is there anything I can do?
contact types - system bugs for editing
Contact types cannot be re-ordered! I have indeed put and save them in the order I want, but they still do not show up that way in the account pages. You have a bug. In Customize Copper, there is only a selection to work with People for Contact Types - not for company records. So your instructions on editing Contact Types are wrong.
Copper Checkmark Disappeared
Hi there. We are new to Copper. Perhaps someone can help?Until a few days ago, there was a Copper icon with a checkmark in our Gmail user interface. This could be used to control whether the message should be shared with Copper or not. This icon + checkmark has disappeared.Otherwise, email sync and other functions are working properly. What could be the reason for this?Thank you very much and best regards.
Mailing to Couples - Can we make it easier
Hi There, I am wondering if anyone can share with me what they have found to be the easiest way to export a mailing list where you want one snail mail item to go to two clients for example a couple at the same address. Right now I have the mailing address for each person in their file, Mr and Mrs Smith for both the husband and the wife, but when I go to export the list of all my ‘people” i now have two line items in excel for the same person and have to delete the duplicates. I could create a tag for the primary member of the couple, and then export based on the tag? but that seems to leave room for manual errors. Would love to see an option when exporting lists to be asked if we want duplicates to be removed - that would be amazing.
❗️LOST DATA - Google Contacts overwritten
I have a very sticky situation on my hands, and I’m hoping someone here might have sage advice. It looks as though Copper has been overwriting Google Contacts, resulting in the loss of hundreds of phone numbers from my colleague’s Android phone. At first, I thought it was a bug, as I don’t recall any warning about this in my onboarding. However, after chatting with support, it seems like this was avoidable with the proper guidance. Yes, here I am. Is there any way to retrieve what was lost or otherwise resolve this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated as the loss of this data would be catastrophic.
Trying to capture specific interactions within a timeframe
I am wanting to monitor if a specific group of users has increased interactions with customers within a timeframe and write it to a report/insight/kpi kind of metric. For example we know we have a sample of customers who are not as interactive with us as we would like. We have challenged our Sales Managers to engage them more over the next quarter. Short of looking through Activity and counting sales manager interaction while excluding emails from others in our organization like billing, etc. Is it a matter of creating a CF, writing automation? But would would triggers be? Is there an out of the box thinking I haven’t thought of?
