Reporting on a percentage of goal or quota
This guide will walk you through how to report on quotas and goals using Copper’s reporting system. While our reporting system doesn’t have a built-in goal-setting function, you can replicate that functionality using a purpose-built Pipeline. The result will look like this:Follow the instructions below to set this up. Setting up the Goals Pipeline & OpportunitiesFirst, you need to set up a dedicated Pipeline to track your team’s goals. We recommend having stages for Open Goals and Past Goals, although the specific stages won’t affect the way you set up the report later on. Then, you will create one Opportunity for each rep’s goal for each time period. For example, if your team has monthly goals, then you will create one Opportunity for each month for each rep. Make sure you:Set the Value to their quota or goal amount Set the Close Date to the first day of the quota period. For monthly goals, this would be the first of the month. For quarterly goals, this would be the first day of th
Bulk Edit takes too long!!!
This is a really simple feature, but when I make an edit with multiple people it takes minutes to update. And in the meantime I can’t continue working. I have to wait and refresh and refresh again. This is a HUGE issue and something I came across on my first day of using the tool. I consider it a potential dealbreaker to purchasing the product.

Custom Field Key not recogized
I created a custom field, and am trying to clone it to a new pipeline, but I can’t. I set a custom field key for the custom field. And I just get this error: - Unsupported Variables ["travefy"] (travefy is the custom key I made) I have saved the key, it’s in the record. I deleted it and readded it, I logged out and in...appears there is no way to get it to recognize the key.
Unsupported Variable Error
I am getting an issue with adding a custom field to a Workflow automation. Here is what I have entered: CONCAT("https://luxuryrehabs.com/",cf_profile_slug,"/")Attached is the error and a snapshot of the Manage field (Unsupported Variable) and showing the field (Profile Slug), not sure what I am missing here.
Mailing to Couples - Can we make it easier
Hi There, I am wondering if anyone can share with me what they have found to be the easiest way to export a mailing list where you want one snail mail item to go to two clients for example a couple at the same address. Right now I have the mailing address for each person in their file, Mr and Mrs Smith for both the husband and the wife, but when I go to export the list of all my ‘people” i now have two line items in excel for the same person and have to delete the duplicates. I could create a tag for the primary member of the couple, and then export based on the tag? but that seems to leave room for manual errors. Would love to see an option when exporting lists to be asked if we want duplicates to be removed - that would be amazing.
Using Close Date in Reports
Is it possible to use Close Date in Reports?Specifically, I am trying to see a dynamic view of how many open opportunities are assigned to each owner each month based on the opportunities’ close date. For us, close date is a fixed date when the opportunity will be closed out, so we would like to be able to see a view of our owners’ caseloads each month based on how many opportunities will be open at that time. Is this possible?
Automatically create start date when opportunity is confirmed?
Is there a way to automatically add a “Start Date” for an opportunity as the date it was “Confirmed?” I currently have 4 stages of Opportunities, and when I get to the “Confirmed” stage, I will create triggers for tasks. I would like to add the triggers as (Start_Date, +1) (Start_Date, +10), etc. I’d love to be able to do this by not having to manually enter my start date into the opportunity. I think I have a handle on how to create the task triggers once I have the start date. Thanks in advance!Tim
Tasks completing on their own
While on the “Tasks” tab, I drill down into opportunities to complete the task. When I click back on the “Tasks” tab to complete the next task, 3-4 task unrelated to the task I just completed show a checkmark in the “completed” box. I’ve done this 4 or 5 times now with the same consistent result. If I hasn’t returned to the “tasks” tab, I’m afraid these may slip through the cracks. I was able to uncheck them so they are showing undone, but I can’t rely on that being the process.
❗️LOST DATA - Google Contacts overwritten
I have a very sticky situation on my hands, and I’m hoping someone here might have sage advice. It looks as though Copper has been overwriting Google Contacts, resulting in the loss of hundreds of phone numbers from my colleague’s Android phone. At first, I thought it was a bug, as I don’t recall any warning about this in my onboarding. However, after chatting with support, it seems like this was avoidable with the proper guidance. Yes, here I am. Is there any way to retrieve what was lost or otherwise resolve this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated as the loss of this data would be catastrophic.
Can I change the default Activity Type?
Can I change the default Activity Type? We’re using Copper’s task management system quite a bit — but almost none of our activity involves Phone Calls. Yet, Phone Call is the default Activity Type. There is nothing in settings—that I’ve seen—that let’s me reorder or pick a default. Is there anything I can do?
Creating firs/last name fields to integrate with zapier and google forms
Hello, I am in the process of setting up a zapier integration to link a google form to my copper contacts. I would like to have both first and last name columns in my Copper People database but can’t figure out how to make that work. I just see a First Name field now. Thank you for any insight!!
Trying to capture specific interactions within a timeframe
I am wanting to monitor if a specific group of users has increased interactions with customers within a timeframe and write it to a report/insight/kpi kind of metric. For example we know we have a sample of customers who are not as interactive with us as we would like. We have challenged our Sales Managers to engage them more over the next quarter. Short of looking through Activity and counting sales manager interaction while excluding emails from others in our organization like billing, etc. Is it a matter of creating a CF, writing automation? But would would triggers be? Is there an out of the box thinking I haven’t thought of?
Adding days in stage to a Report or Insight [video]Video
Hello Copper community! We often get this question: can I add the number of days an opportunity has spent in a current stage to my Insight? The answer is yes, but there’s a little bit of setup work involved. Check out the video below for a tutorial.Note: As of March 2022, Opportunities in the Copper left-hand menu is changing to Pipelines. Click here for more information. Broadly, the steps are:Create a field to store the # of days in stage, Create a workflow automation to populate the days in stage and refresh it daily, and Pull that field into the reporting system. Here is the formula I used in the workflow automation for days in stage:DAYS(date_stage_changed,CURRENTDATE())And here’s a list of all default variables and functions. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions!
