This week, we added an “add new field” button to add custom fields directly on records. We’ve also made improvements to our support experience. Custom fields Admins and account owners can now create new custom fields directly in Person, Opportunity or Company records.Previously, all custom fields needed to be added in your Copper customization settings. Now, whenever you identify missing data that you want to add to a record, you can simple click “Add a new field” - saving you time and without losing context. From there, you can select the type of field, the name, and which records you want it to appear on.To add a new field, look for the grey button in the “detail” list while previewing the record in the side tray, or on the bottom left of the record when in full page view.Add a new custom field within a Person, Company or Opportunity record, then choose where the field should appear. The button only appears to admins and account owners. Editing or removing custom fields can be done b
Many Filters on Opportunities that have existed in our system for many months seem to have disappeared. I looked in the settings and nothing seems to have changed - “Include in Filters” is clicked on these custom fields, yet they do not show up in the right-hand Filters panel when in Pipelines. Any ideas on what may be happening here and how to fix?
Hi everyone and welcome to the Copper Community!I’m Michelle and I‘m the Copper Community Manager. You’ll see me around here starting discussions, answering questions, and helping you connect with your fellow Copper users.Let’s get to know each other - introduce yourself below and say hello to other users!
Hello @Natalie from Copper and @Michelle from Copper I have a followup question. So I may need to change the information on the conversion report from “owner” to “team member” or even owners and team members. How do I change this to see the success of each team member? I have it set up as 1 user but 2 team members and may add more team members before I add more owners. I would like to see how the team member is doing on lead conversion (won/loss/abandon) but cant seem to see how to separate out the team member to view. The advice you gave to create a conversion report was excellent and easy to follow hoping this is just an “add” to that report or a 2nd report is fine too. Also, not sure if this is important, I have manager status and I have given my assistant just member status. Thank you, Kelly
We are super excited about our new feature: auto-relating files! You can check out our announcement here or continue reading for more details. Here, we’ll cover:What is file auto-relate? How does it work? How do I enable file auto-relate? What kind of files does it work with? Who can see auto-related files? How do I remove an auto-related file? What about duplicate files? Can I still upload files manually? Are files visible in the mobile app and Chrome extension? What does Add from Copper mean? Can users disable file auto-relate? Does it work with Leads, Projects or Tasks? More questions? What is file auto-relate?Copper automatically relates files from emails and attaches them to the relevant Person in Copper. No more downloading and uploading, sifting through Google Drive and Gmail or asking someone to re-send a file.Once a file is auto-related, your team can easily find it from the sender or recipient’s Person record or from their related Companies and Opportunities.Once a file is au
Is it possible in Copper to build scenarios into reports? In senior management (and for our BoD) we want to look at possible sales outcomes based on a couple ok key variables? Secondly, we would like to see how accurate our forecasts are over time and adjust our assumptions (e.g. probability of close in any given stage) based on sales performance. Are either of these (or both) possible today within Copper?
This guide will walk you through how to report on quotas and goals using Copper’s reporting system. While our reporting system doesn’t have a built-in goal-setting function, you can replicate that functionality using a purpose-built Pipeline. The result will look like this:Follow the instructions below to set this up. Setting up the Goals Pipeline & OpportunitiesFirst, you need to set up a dedicated Pipeline to track your team’s goals. We recommend having stages for Open Goals and Past Goals, although the specific stages won’t affect the way you set up the report later on. Then, you will create one Opportunity for each rep’s goal for each time period. For example, if your team has monthly goals, then you will create one Opportunity for each month for each rep. Make sure you:Set the Value to their quota or goal amount Set the Close Date to the first day of the quota period. For monthly goals, this would be the first of the month. For quarterly goals, this would be the first day of th
Hello All, I have my system set up as “leads” (those I am trying to reach) and “people” (those I have reached and converted). I would like to create a report and I have 2 seats (users). For this report, I would like to have it show the conversion to people broken down to those that have been lost, won or abandoned for each seat. Since I have the professional version the person who was helping me said I should create an insight since the dashboard could only do this in the professional version. However, I really am not visualizing the best way to do this. TIA for the guidance!
Record filteringYou asked, and we listened — advanced filtering on text fields will soon be available in Copper! Hi, for the last couple of months I’ve been getting the error “Extension Context Validated” in the bottom right hand corner of Gmail and suspected it was do to an extension. Googling it didn’t find me a solution. This week I decided to delete and re-install the Copper plug in but now I’m getting an error saying “Ajax Authorization Failed”. When I googled that phrase, I came to a reddit thread with at least two other copper users seeing the same issue. Can you figure out what is up with this bug? I’m running Copper and Gmail on Chrome on Mac OS, in case that is of importance. Thanks!
