February 25th, 2022 - File preview actions, Pipeline setup flow and mobile app onboarding

This week, we’re introducing new file preview actions, a new setup flow for Pipelines and mobile app onboarding for first-time users. As always, we squashed some bugs as well!Coming soon: New file preview actions 📑When you’re working with files attached to records, we’ll be adding additional options in the next few weeks: Click to preview: When hovering over files, you can now preview the file in a new browser tab. Previously, clicking the title would download the file by default. New Action Icons: We’ve added three new icons to the right of files, which allow you to download files, get more information, or remove the file from the record. New File Preview Actions Coming soon: Pipeline setup flow 🪄We’ll soon be making it more intuitive to create new pipelines in Copper! When you create a new pipeline, you’ll be greeted by a new setup flow that will ask you to name your pipeline and stages. An animation will show you what your new Pipeline will look like once you’ve saved it.“Setup Your Pipeline”If you need to set team and win percentages in your pipeline, this can be done by editing your pipeline after creating it. We’re rolling out a pipeline creation flow to all customers over the next few weeks. Mobile app onboarding ✨We’ve introduced a new onboarding experience that appears when you download our mobile app for the first time. Don’t have our mobile app yet? Download it now on Google Play or the Apple App Store!Bugs 🐞 In the iOS app, we’ve fixed an issue where some users could not add new comment threads, and a bug where notes on the activity feed were being cut off. In the Android app, we’ve made our automatic call logging more flexible by supporting numbers that contain special characters. We’ve also fixed a bug where users were unable to convert Leads to Person records. In the Copper web app, we fixed two broken links in the menu: the “Mobile Apps” link directs to a new page on our homepage, and “Send Feedback” now directs to the Ideas page on Copper Community.

January 28th 2022 - Developer API enhancements

This week, we’ve introduced updates to our developer API, and tackled bugs in our Google Chrome extension, in-app email and mobile apps. Developer API 🔌Computed custom field values 🔠On the Developer API, any eligible endpoint that returns custom fields can now also return with their corresponding text values, using a new optional parameter. When an entity with custom fields is returned, by default the option IDs would need to be mapped to their corresponding labels via a call to GET /v1/custom_field_definitions, causing an extra request to be made. To reduce HTTP traffic, you can now add an optional query param custom_field_computed_values=true to any eligible endpoints that return custom fields in order to retrieve the custom field's "computed_value".Existing API connections that do not use the new param will continue to operate as normal. For more information, review our Copper Developer API documentation. Bugs 🐞 Google Chrome extension 🌐We resolved an issue with our Google Chrome extension in Google Calendar, which caused some customers to receive an error message when logging in.In-app emailWe resolved two issues when sending emails while using the previous and next feature to navigate between multiple records in full screen view. The issue caused emails to be sent to the incorrect recipient and merge fields not updating correctly. We resolved an issue with bulk email where merge fields were not populating when navigating through people during bulk email preview. Copper mobile apps 📱We resolved a bug on our Android app where automatic call and SMS logging was not being logged as an activity if the phone number had gaps or spaces. We resolved a bug on our iOS app where some users were being logged out each time they closed the app.  We fixed an issue on our iOS app where the app would crash when changing from one pipeline with fewer stages into another pipeline with more stages.

July 16th, 2021 - New in Copper

Hi Copper Community, here’s our product update for July 16th 2021! ReportsWe’ve added more capabilities to allow you to report on custom fields. You can now configure custom fields for Person, Company, Opportunity, Project, and Task records.  PlatformWe’re continuing to improve overall usability of Copper. Search:  You can now quickly and easily search on Name, Email, Company Domain, and Phone number from the top search bar. Access to a full page of search results is still available by hitting the Enter key. These results are from a deeper search across all fields and activities. We’ve also added a slight delay to when we start to search which isn’t noticeable to users but it means we perform less requests on our servers and so results are quicker for us all. Full search: The full search results page now displays quick record filters across the top for easy selection, better organization, and improved readability. Mobile search filters: Search filters are now also included in our mobile application. Activity feed: We removed the duplicate emoji option from the bottom of the activity card within the activity feed. You can still access the emoji option from the top of the activity card. Projects: We updated the full-page icon in the preview panel when viewing a project to redirect to the board view. List views: We updated the List View selection dropdown to be more discoverable in the user interface.  Let us know in the comments what you think of these items and post in the Ideas section if you have any suggestions!

July 2nd, 2021 - New in Copper

PlatformWe’ve continuing to improve the platform usability. List View Improvements: Return to the Previous Position in List View When navigating from a specific position within the listview to the record details page and back to the listview, the system will return me back to where you were in the list and the row will be highlighted for visibility. This also applies to filtered lists as well. List View Improvements: Highlight Applied Filters from the List of Filter Options When viewing filters that have been previously selected, those filters will be highlighted so they stand out as "selected". List View Improvements: Combine "Back" Arrow with Entity Title  The back arrow and entity name are now one button that can be selected or clicked in navigating back from the record detail page to the list view. List View Improvements: Update the Names Across entities with Underline The name field across entities (Leads, People, Company, Projects, Tasks) will show an underline when mousing over the name. This is to improve the discoverability of click states within the list. Email Sequences: Include Outfunnel Performed Activities In Activity Counts When we generate the Performed Activities Report/Dashboard, we were not looking at records owned by end-users in a company, therefore they were being excluded.  With this fix, we will now include the count of these activities and link them to the company record that the users are associated with. Email Sequences: You can now define Email Sequences recipients with Opportunity tags. Email Sequences now support sending email campaigns to segments defined with Opportunity tags. For example, if you set up a Workflow Automation that adds a tag when an opportunity is moved to a new stage, then you can have Email Sequences trigger automatically. Reports: Provisioning Feedback Page New Users and Accounts now see a page informing them that Reports are being provisioned for them and to check back later BugsWe’re continuing to crush those bugs 🐞 that you’re letting us know about. Search: Search Not Specific to Area Selected When the user is on the search results page, and then enters new search terms into the search bar, the radio button should be reset to the Everything toggle, to reflect the actual search results shown Mobile: Clicking Reply in Copper links opens the dashboard in the mobile app When using mobile and clicking a Reply in Copper link, the mobile apps were opening the dashboard instead of the task. With this fix we now have delivered the expected behavior and both iOS and Android apps are opening the task when the link is clicked. Mobile: After converting a lead on the Android mobile app and clicking back the lead does not appear converted After converting a lead on the Android mobile app, if the user clicked back they would see the Lead was still in the list and did not appear converted. With this fix the Lead will no longer appear in the list and will have been converted as expected. Mobile: Primary Contact remains required even if set to "None" in web app When you set the creation or edit rule to "None" in Opportunities, it's expected to reflect in iOS as well, however, iOS is persistent on making the "Primary Contact" required. With this fix iOS will respect the rule and no long persist “Primary Contact” as required if it is not. Mobile: User is forced to log in using Google instead of Email and Password combo When clicking to log in with email on the iOS mobile app, if the email address is recognised as a gmail email address the SIGN IN WITH GOOGLE authentication flow is triggered. The expected behavior is that the email and password can be used to login. This fix delivers the expected behavior which is consistent with the web app. Mobile: The keyboard is not dismissed on the iPad When saving a task the keyboard on the iPad remains open. This fix now hides the keyboard when the task is saved.
