problem adding recipients to scheduled email report sharing

I have a couple of dashboards that I would like to share as scheduled weekly reports. 

When I select ‘To’ I am offered a list of only a few of our Copper users.  When I try to add email addresses of others (whether they are Copper users or not), the following message appears. The email address deletes itself before I can do anything else.   What am I doing wrong?

Hi @MV ken, thanks for posting! Once you type the email address, you should be able to hit enter on your keyboard to lock it in. You can also click on the yellow warning message.

If you do that, you should see the email address go from plain black text:

 

To having it in a grey box with an X like this:
