User based merge tag for emails

I’m setting up some shared email templates, and I'm wondering if there is a way to have a user based custom field that can be used as a merge tag in email templates.

the use case is that we have calendar book urls per user. and want to setup shared email templates, where we have a paragraph about connecting with us by click on the link to book a meeting.
We’d like to have it that that calendar link be personal to the user sending the email.

does anyone know how to go about that?

So a workaround to make this work would actually to use a link shortener like Short io and to set up a scheduler URL for each CRM user, making their name (first and last) the short link.

Then you'd add in the general short URL in the template:{{Owner Name}}

So it should in a sense generate the proper scheduler link depending on whoever the owner is of the lead/person.

Hope that makes sense. We've made it work for some of our customers, but it of course depends more specifically on the exact needs you have. Maybe you don't want it to be the person owner? If so, you'd have to get creative in other ways. Maybe your team just knows to edit the template link to be their link and that's the easiest way to do it.

Try not to over engineer a solution unless the time savings is there.

Best of luck!
