Hello! Here’s an overview of how email visibility works in Copper. Watch the video here or read the written guide further down.

Note: As of March 2022, Opportunities in the Copper left-hand menu is changing to Pipelines. Click here for more information.
Note: Copper only syncs emails that involve a contact from your Copper system. So if you are emailing someone who is not in Copper, those emails will not be synced. Additionally, Copper does not sync internal emails, so you will not be able to view emails between coworkers in the Copper system.
There are three levels of control when it comes to email visibility: individual users and emails, admins, and account owners.
Individual Users and Emails
By default, a new user’s emails will all be visible to other users. We strongly recommend keeping emails visible by default to maximize visibility!
If an admin has allowed it, users can choose to mark all their future emails as Private. They can do this in Settings > Email Settings & Templates.

If an email is Private, other users can see the fact that an email occurred but cannot see the contents or the subject line. Here’s an example:

User can also change the visibility on an individual email:

Note, admins can also turn off a user’s Google Sync entirely by going to Settings > Accounts Settings > Company & Invite New Users > Edit User > Uncheck the Google Sync box. This will stop all emails and calendar events from syncing.
Admins
Admins can block or allow users from setting their emails public by default. They can do this in Settings > Email Settings & Templates.

By default, admins can also see emails that are private. However, Account Owners can turn off this option.
Account Owners
Account owners can block admins from seeing private emails. This can be done only by the account owner by going to Settings > Email Settings & Templates.
