Coffee with Copper is back 👌 with one of our most requested sessions on how to increase Copper adoption amongst your team. We know introducing and implementing a new tool can be challenging — from breakdowns in communication, to misaligned expectations to lack of team engagement, there’s a whole lot that can prevent your team from reaching sweet synergy with Copper 😢

So to help you out, we brought together our Onboarding and Customer Success experts to walk through the best practices for implementing and adopting Copper in your organization. Whether you’re just starting out or you're struggling to keep your team engaged on the platform, this webinar has tips for you.

✔ Take this quick survey to share your feedback on the session and let us know what you’d like to see next.

We start at the beginning with identifying goals and setting expectations with leadership when introducing Copper. Perri, our Onboarding Manager shares that every company needs to think about the what, why, how and who of their Copper implementation:

By addressing these questions you can create a clear communications plan, set expectations with both leadership and end-users, and create measurable KPIs for success with Copper.

“These are all questions that are great to ask at the beginning of your journey with Copper, but you can come back at any point during your partnership with us to reassess and take stock of these things and make sure that you’re on track.”

The answers to these questions can be worked into your Copper Playbook, so you have an easy resource to return to as you continue with Copper.

Next, Chris, our in-house Digital Customer Success and Onboarding Specialist, shares key tips for communicating Copper’s value to your team. We all know how it can be; tool fatigue is rampant and can leave many teams turning their heads when it comes to learning a new platform. That’s why this step is so important. Take the time to show (not just tell) your team how Copper will make their lives better. Chris explains that it’s all about communicating the what, why, how and who of Copper from the POV of your team through relevant and engaging kick-off events and demonstrations.

A pro tip for your demonstrations — focus on the 3 pillars of what Copper will help your team do:

🤝 Thoughtfully manage relationships with your clients

🎯 Close more opportunities with detailed tracking

📈 Improve their productivity in a scalable way

The Copper Chrome extension plays a large role in accomplishing these three pillars. We encourage your team to download the extension if they haven’t already.

Lastly, Nickie wraps up the session with tips on engaging your team from the start and in the long-term so they always feel part of the conversation. A big part of this is asking for their feedback so they have a role to play in success with Copper. You can do this through surveys, lunch-and-learn sessions, or even just carving out 10 to 15 minutes on each weekly team meeting to check in and see how everyone is feeling.

Nickie also shares that many Copper customers have found nurturing Copper "champions" within their organizations not only creates Copper experts in-house, but a resource for the rest of the team to learn from. She lists a few key qualities to look for in a Copper champion.

The session ends with a live Q&A session where we take questions from the audience. If there’s anything you’d like to learn more about, just pop it into the comments below.

We hope you enjoy this recording!

I am wondering if anyone has developed a kind award to increase adoption? Example Copper Cup. I am trying to develop parameters on how the Copper Cup would be awarded. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @NeoSakura, I love that you’re leaning into the idea of a Copper Cup! From a high level, you could include things like the number of activities a user has logged in a given month. Or the number of new contacts or opportunities owned by each user. We could even get into some deeper usage statistic (e.g. number of times they used an email template).

If I remember correctly, @bdassistant might actually have a system in place to measure their team’s knowledge and engagement of Copper!

@bdassistant  - I would be interested in learning more about your system in place to measure our team’s knowledge and engagement of Copper!
