Meet SportsDataIO: A data company powering their marketing with Copper x Mailchimp 🎯

Hi Copper community, we’ve got another case study for you! This one features SportsDataIO, a data provider for betting platforms like FanDuel and Betr. They’re using a combination of Copper and Mailchimp to power their email marketing 💪

We love the approach their team is taking to build their marketing outreach engine. Before sending their first newsletter, they:

  • Looked at the quality of their data, because that will be the foundation of any segmentation they do.
  • Found the right platform to use. Originally, they were using email marketing platforms that don’t integrate with Copper natively. Now, they’re using Mailchimp and our Copper x Mailchimp integration.
  • Thought about their audience segments, including which types of organizations they want to target. On top of that, they layered in contact type data from Copper. In all, they’ll have about 20 segments across 10,000 contacts.

The team will be sending targeted newsletters each month to each segment with the goal of providing relevant content while keeping the SportsDataIO brand and product top of mind for those contacts.

Next, SportsDataIO plans to focus on automating follow-ups based on milestones, like a contact’s number of inactive days. We can’t wait to see what they build!
