Importing data
Need to bring data in from another source? Maybe you are:
- Migrating from another CRM
- Adding a list of contacts you made from a trade show or event
- Updated existing information in Copper
If so, you have the option to use our importing tool to reduce manual data entry. Check out the introductory video below to get started.
Note: Importing data is available on all tiers.
Reports

Our built-in reporting tool lets you build graphs and dashboards that provide insight into your contacts, pipelines, or your team’s activities. Reports can help you answer questions like:
- How did my sales team perform - both as a group and as individuals - in the last quarter? What was the average deal size?
- How many Opportunities did we lose last month? How much lost revenue does that represent, and what are the most common reasons for losing them?
- How many touchpoints have we had with our biggest client over the past year?
Once you build a dashboard from a template or from scratch, the data will refresh itself automatically. Plus, you can set up scheduled automated email reports - even if the recipient isn’t a Copper user!

Workflow automation

Workflow automation is a built-in tool that can automatically create or update records in Copper. For example, you can set up workflow automation rules such as:
- When a new prospect hasn’t been contacted in 7 days, create a task to follow up
- When a new Opportunity is added and is worth more than $5000, assign that Opportunity to a certain user
- When an Opportunity’s value is filled out, calculate the take-home commission of the sales rep

Marketing Tools
Copper’s Marketing Tools allow you to automate your team’s outreach. With it, you can:
- Set up a sequence of emails to be sent any time a contact is marked as a Potential Customer
- Automatically generate a Lead Score to quantify how engaged a prospect is
- Seamlessly connect to other platforms where your leads are coming from, such as Facebook Lead Ads, Calendly, or a form on your website
