Mailchimp status

Have a few questions:

1. I set-up the Mailchimp 2-way sync with Copper by following the video from Michelle. I added the text field for status (as in the video), but the status does not appear (i.e. subscribed or unsubscribed) in Copper. The field appears, but the status remains blank for all contacts. The sync seems to be workign otherwise
2. I set-up a Google 1-way sync, so when I add contacts in Copper they appear in Google Contacts. However, I added a new People record to test, but the People record does not appear in Google Contacts (nor in the Copper folder on Google contacts or anywhere in Google contacts). Do I need to do somethign else to push this People record to Google Contacts?
