I don’t see a way that Copper handles duplicate leads from an import. If I import a file 1 with a bunch of leads, then file 2 with more leads and there’s some overlap, it seems I get duplicate leads. Is there a way to eliminate these duplicates? I would think there’s a way they could be auto-caught and merged or something.
Hi Copper gurus - Is there a way to distinguish inbound and outbound contact points in workflow automation (something more granular than ‘Last Contacted’, which can be either inbound or outbound)? For example, I would like to create a task to respond to inbound communication within 2 days. Thanks!
I operate within the confines of a controlled liquor state, meaning I often am unable to track sales through traditionally methods and have been trying to adapt this software somewhat to provide a more full picture of sales efforts, conversion, and market trends that will inform our quarterly strategy moving forward. Does anyone have experience in this specific industry? The standard Pipelines/projects are not necessarily all that helpful, but maybe I am missing a way to customize more fully. Any info would be helpful, otherwise I’ll keep plugging away in settings.
Hi there, I have created a view to reflect the value of opportunity at each stage of my pipeline (with some additional filters). Unfortunately I have not been able to change the order of the bars. They should show in the order of my pipeline. This is an attribute used in the “view by” of the custom made report. The only sorting option I see is on the metrics (opportunity value in my case).This seems like a very basic reporting, I was hoping someone could help with this.Thanks,Chloe
The copper api uses Unix Epoch times (seconds snice 1970).Weird, but ok. It really should use rfc 3339 (iso 8601). But, since it doesn’t, it leads to this problem…it uses unix epoch with respect to some timezone. And this is making integration complex. If its going to be in epoch, it really needs to be in UTC.. How can i know what timezone it is with respect to now? there is no api call to figure that out. and, which sub-timezone. etc. Is this global to the copper world? to a specific customer?to an object or lead? so for example, when i ceate activity events, they end up in the future since i want to supply UTC. but if i can’t, then i need to know the DST/STD settings as well as the utc offset of the copper server.
I’ve run into an issue where I have an opportunity with a task. I’ve also created a project associated with that opportunity. But I’m finding I duplicate to-do items. I have the same to do items in the project and in the opportunity. I like the board view of the project, but the to do items don’t sync to the opportunity. Is there a way to have them sync or should I try a different work flow?
We learned from Copper tech support today that a much used feature has been removed from the Copper Chrome extension for Gmail - the “Filter Inbox” tool. I recommend posting this to our community page or posting this as a feature request here. We don't have any information yet if it will be added back again."
Hello-- I’m a new user.Is it possible to prevent certain email and events from being related to a People, Company or Opportunity in Copper? I am seeing a lot of emails for a company that I believe are meant to be confidential. Before I present this concern to my COO, I would like to understand why this is happening and if there is a way to prevent it. Thank you.
Hi all,I have a customer currently owing 2 stores and now he is opening another store. However when I enter in his email address into the new people section, it will not allow me to use it. How can I enter his email address in 3 different stores? Apparently Copper doesn't allow the same email address for a record to prevent duplicate issues.Maria
Copper does not allow regular users, (i.e. non-system admins such as junior sales reps), to mass upload a CSV. list of prospects. This feature is only available to system admins. Non-system admins also cannot access the “new” reports feature, so they have no access to their activity logs, meetings booked, etc. The only available option is to either make junior reps system admins (giving junior reps full access and the potential of accounts being deleted, or altered, etc.) OR to limit their ability to only view accounts that they are the Owner for. The second option to limit their ability is also a terrible solution because they won’t be able to see if an Account is already in the system, or if the account is under someone else’s ownership. This limitation will result in duplicate accounts being added to the system along with other issues. How is one supposed to cross-reference anything. What is the point of the “teams & visibility” settings? As of right now, it’s either I make all
Hi, My auto logging on android duplicates all of my calls and text messages a second time, so I have double activities for calls and texts in my customer records.What can be done about this? I make calls and perform text messages through the app and they get logged when I do them. Then when I open the app again the next day, my activities from the day before auto log again as the app is loading.Please help, thank you!

I’m wondering if I can use Logic within Copper to automate something that usually is manual. For example if I were to move a task into the progress bar and it stays there for 3 days it would create a task automatically and send it to someone else so they can take care of it. Is it possible to use Logic to automate this since copper does not have it currently.

I recently attended a conference and wish to upload the attendee list to our database. The attendee list, which is in CSV format, has each individual’s name, company name, and position title. It does not include their emails. Some of the individuals are in our database, others are not. What is the most efficient way to:Import the records I have in the spreadsheet/update existing records in Copper without creating duplicates, especially considering that I do not have emails associated with each record in the spreadsheet? Tag all of the individuals on the spreadsheet without overwriting their existing tags?I believe this would require identifying who is currently in our database, exporting that list, and cross-checking the exported records with the CSV spreadsheet, but that seems rather cumbersome. What is the best way to go about doing this?Thank you.

I have setup the related field in our Copper instance and I have tried to retrieve the related field data using the API call: https://api.copper.com/developer_api/v1/people/110161957/related/companies Unfortunately no data is being returned, even though I have created a relationship between people and companies and populated the fields.
