Is it possible to customize the status of pipeline opportunities beyond: Won, Lost, Abandoned?

I came across this when searching for the same question. In our situation, it would be to note that an opportunity that was previously won, has subsequently been terminated and is no longer an active source of revenue.
As a workaround, I’m adding this to Pipeline Stages instead, although it feels like it fits better in Status.
