Is there a way to add a person to a company that doesn’t require re-entering the address and phone numbers, etc.?

Hi @Duane! To clarify, you mean you have a Person in Copper who is not connected to a Company - is that correct?

If that’s the case, there are two ways to connect that Person to a Company without re-entering their data:

Connect them from the Person record details

In the Person’s details, fill in the Company name. As you start typing, Copper will give you some suggestions - pick the Company from there.

Connect them from the Company’s Related section

In the Company’s Related section, find the section for People and click the + button to add a Person. It’ll give you a box to type the Person’s name, and as soon as you start typing it’ll search for them.

Let me know if that answers your question!

No we import lists of companies and then we call on them and get to a person.  Then when we go under related and add a person we have to manually cut and paste all the address, phone and other info from the company record.  It is quite inefficient.

Gotcha - thanks for the additional contact @Duane. Currently, we don’t have a way to transfer data from one record (the Companies) into another (the Person you’re adding). I’ve seen some folks do this successfully with a Zapier integration.

As for a native function that does this, we do have an open idea for this topic. It would be great if you can upvote it and maybe even comment so that the product team has visibility.

It’s currently marked as “Looking into it” which means the team is in discussion about it but hasn’t built it into the product roadmap yet.
